The number of targets is locked in as you play this card. As it tries to resolve, compare the combined cost of all targets that are still legal with the number of resources you control at that time. For example, if you control seven resources and target three allies with costs 5, 1, and 1, but then you lose a resource in response, the combined cost of your legal targets is too great on resolution, and so this card is interrupted.
